Detroit Lions Adds Wayfinding Feature To Their App That Helps Fans To Spot Their Seats

Preparing for the Detroit Lions game? Looking at your ticket to understand where you need to navigate for the seat? Then hold your horses your favorite, NFL team wants to help you in navigating to your seat at Ford Field. Detroit Lions has added a navigation feature to their mobile app that will guide the user in the stadium to find the spots. The wayfinding features will start showing up after you update the Detroit Lion’s Apple app.
The wayfinding feature is added by a Pittsburgh-based software developer YinzCam using the Apple Indoor positioning. This new update makes the Detroit Lions the first team of NFL to add such feature to their app. In order to use the feature users need to enable the location service and grant the app access to the location. Once the user reaches the stadium the app will locate your current location and provide you the direction to your destinations.

"Before we had our map, we had a lot of fans who would ask simple questions, like 'Where is the elevator?' or 'Where is the restroom?' But this map has everything layered into it," said the Lions' Director of Digital Operations. "Yinz Cam's custom development also provides us with a lot of flexibility, so that we can quickly go in and modify the locations within the map, adding a new concession stand or menu, depending on what type of event is taking place on a particular day."

Along with finding the seat location, there are filters available that will help the user in finding their way to other destinations. You can also get the navigation to restrooms, clubs, bars, elevators, and restaurants available in the stadium. Just select the destination and the app will show a dotted line on the map which is the shortest way to reach the desired location. You will also find the Menu in the app.
