Twitter’s ‘tweetstorm’ Feature Finally Starts Showing Up In The App

Twitter, the microblogging social media platform is testing its Tweetstorm feature with the limited number of users in its Android app.The tweetstorm, which is designed by the company to let its users trigger many tweets at once by scheduling them to create a storm of tweets. The company has confirmed to the Techcrunch that is testing the feature for now.

The feature was spotted first back in September by a developer in the Android Twitter App. But, the feature was hidden in the app and wasn't available for the users but, now it's started popping out for some users. The tweetstorm feature lets the user write and queues tweets and send them at once by eliminating the need for writing and sending them individually. According to the Android Police, the feature is available only for the Android alpha app users. The feature gives the tweeting part of the app a new interface with a “Tweet for all” option to the user that staggered the “tweetstorm”.

In the current user interface the new tweetstorm feature replaces the avatar image of the user by a “tweet for all” option in the right-upside corner. There is also a plus sign available just beside the character circle that adds the one more tweet to your tweetstorm. If you want to load your storm of tweets with one more tweet you need to tap on the plus sign. In addition to this you will also see the lined up tweets, so you can edit or change them before you press the ‘tweet for all’. Once you are done with the writing tweets, hit tweet for all and your tweets will go one by one. The tweetstorm feature has been tested by the company on both Android alpha and Android beta for quite some time now, the company told Techcrunch. However, the feature is not available to the users yet, the company is testing it with a handful number of users.

Twitter never drops its new feature or any change suddenly, it first tests the feature with few users and let it grow organically before launching officially. The company did the same with its @, hashtag and RT feature back in time. Now, it's coming with the tweetstorm feature to get the user's response prior to integrating it into the platform.

It seems that the 280 character extension wasn't enough for the company to allure its users for sharing their views more comfortably. However, the tweetstorm feature along with 280 character support is a bit of concern for some users. This combination will let the user post lengthy tweets continuously. Twitter did not share the time for tweetstorm feature public release yet, so we have to wait to see the how the feature will affect the platform in its users.
