WhatsApp Added 'Dismiss as admin' Feature To Its Beta Version
WhatsApp, the free chatting app is currently working really hard to enhance the user experience. The latest additions to the beta version of the app shows, how much serious the company is about making the product perfect from all aspects. Following the recent features, the Facebook-owned messaging platform has added another feature for the users. Now, the users can degrade or demote the group admin without removing him or her from the group.
If you have ever been added to the groups on WhatsApp, you must be aware of the role of the admin. The administrator of the group holds the power to control some group actions like editing group title, changing the group image and removing/adding any member. Until now, the only way to degrade a member from an admin post is to remove him or her from the group and then adding back to the group. There could be more than one admin in a single group, so in order to degrade one, other has to remove the member from the group first.
However, the latest beta version has changed the way by adding “Dismiss as admin” option. In the beta version if you feel like you want to remove someone from the admin list you can do it just by choosing the newly added option. Now, there is no need to remove the member from the group first. With the help of this addition, the users can easily demote any member from the admin status. According to the WABetainfo, the feature is only available in the beta version of the app for Android and under development for the iOS users.
So, if an annoying friend of yours making the group inappropriate as an admin you can take the admin batch from him or her right away. If you are one of the admins of the group you can access the feature just by tapping the Group info. However, this is not the only transition that WhatsApp is going through in the beta version. Recently, the company has also added an option to switch between voice and video calls and a Restricted Group feature.
