Android Nougat Is The Most Used OS Version On Android Devices
Google has announced that its Android Nougat ( 7.0 & 7.1 ) has become the most used version of the OSamong Android users. The Android version was launched over a year and a half ago by the company. By occupying 28.5 percent of the Android users, Nougat is the most used Android version. Google shared the details overall the Android version being used by the users across the globe on its developer portal on Monday.
The Android 6.0, Marshmallow grabs the second spot as the most used Android version as 28.1 percent of Android users still using it. On the other hand, the latest Android 8.0 Oreo stands behind in the list holding the sixth position with a total count of 1.1 percent users. However, the version shows an increment of .2 percent from the last noted by the company back in October 2017. Talking about the older version of Androids, Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich are still used by 0.3 percent and 0.4 Percent of the users respectively.
This is nothing new for Google, as it encounters fragmentation issues with every of its latest update. Releasing an update for every Android device supporting the latest Android version is tedious for Google. The Android devices are being offered by the number of manufacturers and vendors, this made a huge problem for Google to release an update for all at once. Google’s situation will look worse if you compare to how is Apple doing with its updates. Apple’s iOS 10 which released at the same time with Nougat is being used by 28 percent of the iOS users. But, the latest iOS 11 runs on the 65 percent of the iOS devices.
However, there is no doubt that Apple holds the benefit of owning the hardware as well as its OS releases. This makes it simple for the iPhone maker to upgrade most of the iOS devices with the latest OS version in a very short time.
Keep it up for more NeWS.
